OU orientation goes online during COVID-19 pandemic

Due to the unprecedented circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic and its ongoing impact on Oakland University families, communities and students, Orientation and New Student Programs (ONSP) has created an online experience that will replace new student and parent/family on-campus orientations.

Oakland University offers test-optional admission for fall 金殿棋牌 and 2021

To help remove barriers to enrollment amid the ongoing public health crisis, Oakland University will offer test-optional admission for the fall of 金殿棋牌 and 2021 to students with a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Oakland launches Grizzly Engagement, Action and Thoughtfulness (GrEAT) Recognition Award

Expanding Oakland University’s ongoing efforts to be The University of Choice for both current and prospective faculty and staff members, campus leaders have partnered with the Oakland University Credit Union and CARROT Wellness to launch The Grizzlies Engagement, Action and Thoughtfulness (GrEAT) Recognition Program. This is a new initiative in which employees can both commend and reward their peers for performing community service.

CARES Act provides emergency grants for eligible OU students

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act, which was passed by Congress and signed into law in March, will provide $13,796,824 to Oakland University in higher education emergency relief funding.

Oakland ranks third on list of safest college campuses in America

Oakland University is the third-safest college campus in the nation, and the safest in Michigan, according to a new study by YourLocalSecurity.com.

  • In 1957, Matilda Dodge Wilson donated her estate to establish what is now Oakland University. The estate includes the National Historic Landmark Meadow Brook Hall, which Matilda built with her second husband Alfred Wilson from 1926-29.

    Matilda was inspired by steel pioneer and philanthropist Andrew Carnegie, quoting him that she wanted to provide "ladders upon which the aspiring can rise."
